Iuka - Rebecca Shelby Hess, 27, of Iuka, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family.

Rebecca was born on January 18, 1998, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Kasey and Alisha Joy (Boatman) Hess.

Survivors include her father, Kasey Hess of Iuka; brother, Nicholas Brandon Hess of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; grandparents, Dale and Debroah Boatman of Salem; aunts and uncles, Michelle Morgan and husband Ben of Iuka, Kelly Hess of Salem, Kenneth Hess and wife Melinda of Centralia, and Kerry Hess and wife Candy of Salem; along with several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alisha Joy Hess; her grandparents, Jim and Ruth Ann Hess; and great-grandparents, Donald McMillan, and Dale Boatman Sr. and Doris Boatman.

Rebecca was an angel given to her family 27 years ago. She loved people and always brought joy and light to any room she entered. She enjoyed 80's movies and Disney movies, she could recite the entire script of Rocky and Dirty Dancing. Rebecca loved riding in her dad's Tow Mater and doing burnouts. Every day for the last seven months, she would talk to her mom and blow her kisses to Heaven. She enjoyed attending church and was always eager to help hold babies after the service concluded.

A memorial service for Rebecca Shelby Hess will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. There will be a time to visit with the family from noon until the time of the service.
